I was a distance runner fr many years. I also ran marathons. Eventually my knees became too painful to run. I then began walking.
It wasn't until I cleaned my pantry out of all processed foods, not to fix my knees by the way, that a few weeks later I had no knee pain. It has never returned.
Having said that, I have no doubt intensive physio can negate need for surgery,
