I used to be on the P&F committee. Most of the parents on the committee were public servants. The comment about conditions and easy job were made one night.

Not much was said, but that night my boss went home and tallied up the following...after school activities, before school meetings with parents, report writing, program writing, inservicing, yard duty, wet weather duty, giving up lunch times to help a child, collaborating with peers....and so on.

And so the next time we met, he handed out a spreadsheet so that the parents there would have a deep understanding of just how many hours we all worked.
