I started to write about this same thing, except the perspective I took was deception. Here, in some instances, many actually, they give you less for the same price as before.

OR, double the price and give you 50% off.

I make a habit of saying things like...oh look at this. It's still the same price, just smaller....or...double the price toothpaste for half-price...BARGAIN.

Now my husband refuses to shop with me.

It's all about meeting the needs of shareholders and lining the pockets of the billionaires. Don't for a moment blame it all on wars. It's greed.
