I saved friend from very similar scam. He had no idea!

It reminds me of the time when my parents got a telephone call claiming to be from Microsoft. They gave the caller remote access to their computer and paid them £300 to ‘fix a bug’. This was followed by a worried call to me, that they’d been scammed.
