I never really thought about it all, those breast-feeding nights, the changing of diapers, the waking to check on a ever. AT that time it was what it was.
Now is much better. Many more dads do their fair share, as it should be.
The thing is, parenting is the best, for the most part, so my advice to dads is to get in there and experience the joys of the first pre-dawn chat, the first tentative reach for a toy, the efforts to crawl, or walk. Each and every one of them is mind-blowing, and you never forget.
Just share the joys as they evolve. :)
