I imagine you have lovely hair, Katie. Not sure I'd get away with just tying my hair up these days.
Some years ago I went into a salon to have my hair done when traveling. In the middle of doing it the hairdresser just happened to mention she had to charge a women over $500 the day before because her hair was so thick. I told her I hoped it wouldn't cost anywhere near that for mine. She assured me it wouldn't. It was close to $400. This was maybe ten years ago, and it wasn't good. I was so upset.
I can understand you'd have views on whether men and women should pay different rates, especially when some men don't have much, but for men like my husband, still blessed with hair, his cut takes as long as mine, yet he pays far less.
We actually suggested to our hairdresser that she charge more, but she assured us it wasn't worth the plethora of complaints she would get.
