I have written a fair bit on this subject Lauren. Tow past students spring to mind.

One was a lovely young girl whose body was covered in psoriasis, but she loved all the slushies she could buy from the tuck shop. Her whole body was affected. I quietly suggested these could be causing it, but the lure of the sugar and other additives was too much for her. That any school allows these, beggars belief.

The other one was a girl who was painfully thin, yet boasted she could eat anything and not get fat. That was true.

She went into hospital to have her wisdom teeth removed, and three weeks later, after almost dying, (sepsis) she went home. I suppose she had nothing to fight with.

I understand your kids not liking the changes you have made. Almost all kids are addicted to the additives in food. It's a science...how to create the I want more, flavour, the right zing, the right crunch.

The food element has been omitted.

And then there is the powerful advertising of these same foods.

This is why cereals, sell so well. They're just sugars in disguise.
