I have a friend who has a linen room the size of a bedroom where she keeps sheets, towels, tablecloths, napkins, and whatever else, some of them belonging to grandparents who bought them before (maybe after) WW2.
None of it gets used. Her excuse used to be, maybe the kids will need them. Those kids are now married with their own homes, with their own tastes. They neither want, nor want to deal with her collections. They threaten the match. She laughs.
