The inspiration for this story today came from Harry Hogg who wrote about flying into turbulence en route to South America. It was very much about his wife Jenny’s fear.

This story is very much about my fear in a similar, but rather more frightening situation.

In an instant, the plane was madly out of control — one minute flying peacefully in the sky, and suddenly all was changed as it shuddered back and forward, back and forward, back and…

Then it dropped. And dropped even further!

Abruptly, it shunted violently again.

We were all going to die!

I held my breath. I tried to hold onto my seat. Hope was far away, and in that instant, I knew.

Panicked cries filled the cabin.

And as the plane lurched like an enormous whale, bodies were tossed around, veritable, out-of-control…
