I can relate to that. We went on a hike into the forest on Bougainville Island, PNG. The guide became disorientated, and had no idea which way to take. My husband and I decided to retrace our route, and suprise, surprise, met the rest of the group on the way down. We could hear the sounds of the mine site trucks to the left, followed that, and were able to seek help. Starting at 7am, we got back to base camp at 9pm, totally exhasutied, having learned a huge lesson.
