How this speaks to me, Josaia...I recently found a new doctor, because we are living in a different part of Oz. I was relieved to find him as the first three practices I called informed they were not taking on new patients.
And then I found this doctor. The receptionist raved about him. He was very nice, but I knew our relationship would be short. He was PURE and UTTER text-book-informed. All he wanted to tell me that as an older human I needed every test under the sun.
I informed him that I took great care with myself, used no medication, exercised each and every day, stretched , lifted weights, ate no processed food, and that I was not so interested in submitting myself to lots of tests.
I had three visits with him, at the end of which, I stormed out of his surgery.
I later read reviews on him. They were either five-star or zero star...the fivers I'd say don't mind being given medication at the drop of a hat. The others, I'd say, are probably more like I am, intent on keeping themselves healthy and out of the clutches of drug companies. Terms like: absolute disgrace, does not deserve to be practicing, has no idea, left me wondering why he has a job.
Mind you, I'd hate to be a doctor! There is no time to be empathetic. Its all about churning people through a very wanting system.
