Hm! What to say about this. It's not entirely crazy.

For many years in South Australia, people used to sit outside in the gardens of a particular pub and feed the birds their scraps of batter and chips.

And then the birds began to die. They stopped looking for their natural diet.

A friend in Victoria used to feed minced beef to the local birds. It got to the stage that the kookaburras would smash their beaks on the window pane, a mad display of impatience, and so she stopped feeding them. It took many weeks before they give up.

Perhaps council should better explain why they have made this decision. I'm pretty sure it's more than about too many bird droppings.
