Hi Paula - I can't offer you any positive experiences from my time living in Canberra, the Nation's capital. It seems to me that we just can't have an indepth discussion with people of different political persuasions. In one particular group, over lunch, and wine, I made some comment that I felt was just pure common sense, and there was a thunderclap of silence. I knew in that moment where I stood politically, and I have never made comment since.

Yet if we were to go back to Adelaide, and to our old friendship groups, we could tread the hot coals and we'd still be friends at the end of the day.

I find socialising in situations where I need to bite my tongue, and be foerevr treading a fine line, extremely draining. Good to chat with you again. Hope you are well.
