Hi Patrick...I hear you. This was loosely based on the experience of my daughter in the first instance.
Fortunately, she is very well-organised and had all her email interactions on record, as well as her choices of colour etc.
She refused to sign on the dotted line and tried to broker a deal, that was to reduce the cost of the condo by a given amount, or exit the contract.
They allowed her to exit her contract (unheard of at the time) and that worked for her. Those homes significantly dropped in value, and the home she eventually bought, just small, doubled in value in short period of time.
