Hi Meera - as I read this beuitiful story, I substituted shortbread, for pooris. If you can make shortbread, really flaky, SORT, shortbread, you are a true Scot. I live in Australia these days, but when Christmas comes around, I drag out my mother's shortbread recipe, and make it for friends. It's a language that brings us together.
