We have four terms here, which means 4 lots of reports, which set everyone on edge.
It's like watching the grass grow and then reporting on it. It's also why my friend has found her own way.
I agree with everything you say.
I was also a TESOL teacher at one time. Just loved it. I had a Korean boy called Peter who could only say one word when he first arrived, FOOD. By the end of the year you would not have believed that he'd been in the country for less than a year.
Agree with you about grading too. Its such a subjective thing. It can be little else.
I have taught students who didn't shine (for me), and they now have degrees. How bad must my teaching have been!!!
