I guess for me, there was a lot of disappointment before actually becoming a mother. Whether that impacted my actually being a mother I have no idea.

I will say this. Because of previous disappointments I pulled back on all the preparations that mothers generally make...fortunately my mother and a friend's mother took over and bought basics for me, as well as doing a wealth of knitting.
