Hi Bobbi - thank you for writing this. I feel your pain. I look back on my career as a teacher and I now recognize the autistic students. Sadly, teachers were not so versed in either knowing about autism, or dealing with it, and yet, I now realize the disability was much closer to home than i could ever have anticipated. Autism is clesely linked to huge ability, but I beieve that one cripples the other to some extent. if only I had known. Really lovely to meet you.
