Still my mother insisted we set the table every night, in the dining room, far away from television.

At the time I had no idea of the wealth of this time spent together. So many problems solved, fun stories shared...not your no talking at the table experience. Instead we were encouraged to share our day.

So glad your wife's experience was similar.

Let me hazard a guess...your children are able to stand up for, and believe in themselves.
