Getting those likes, not to mention comments, when you are new to Medium, is EVERYTHING, that injection of faith that we all need, just to keep going. I actually didn't read any articles from people bragging about their windflall. Rather many of them were about being taken by surprise, and also sending out a message that you too might get lucky.
