First The Clunk. The Car…Fell…From Where? It Made No Sense. Then I Saw The Body…I Scrambled Out Of My Car…He Was Moving…“Can you hear me?” I asked.

Later, when the shock set in, I realized taking time to have the post-medical chat was what saved us. Three seconds sooner…goosebumps!

“When we got home, we stopped, and took time to express gratitude for being alive.”

My husband had stitches removed from his arm today. Our specialist assured us everything was looking good, so that brought some sunshine to the rather overcast, miserably-wet day.

We were about to turn left from the medical surgery when I heard it.

CLUNK!

Clunk…as it upended itself.

It wasn’t a loud noise…not at all…just the clunk of metal on the road.

On a very busy road, I should add.

My husband, oblivious to the noise, having checked his right, was about to proceed left.

“Stop!” I said. “What the hell…where did that come from?”

At first I thought the car was empty. But then I saw the hand trying to open the door.
