I think what could happen, is the two of you could work together. He could tell you what he thinks, and, as I used to say to my students when writing collaboratively, You can accept it, or hand it back with a compliment about the idea. That way, neither of you loses face.
Some of the concepts are a little mature if you are thinking late primary students, but that's where you can work together. I suspect your son is a writer as well.
