Deb who could read this and not think, I have a huge way to go ?

Instead of obsessing about wrinkles we should e endlessly grateful for all the things we once did.

These are what made us who we are today.

Last Christmas Day we spent with strangers, related to our daughter, but strangers to us.

Everyone was a little shy and the hosts were busy in the kitchen. I started a conversation with the lovely teenager next to me...what school year she was in, hobbies, etc.

She happened to mention she was into distance running and wanted to do marathons.

I suggested she do half-marathons before doing a full one, and explained why.

She then asked tentatively...so were you a runner?

I laughed.

"Oh I didn't mean to be rude,: she said. "It's just that.."

"Just that kids tend not to think older people were once young like you," I finished.

The ice was broken and we found ourselves with lots to share.
