This is a drabble and a half, that is, 150 word.

“What was it with all this glitter and noise?” little Eric wondered, his eyes wide with curiosity.

There must be a reason for all this mad bustle.

Like his grandma, he didn’t do this mad business. Nor did he care for the in your face hoi polloi, scrambling and pushing in an effort to pay for their Christmas goods and then moving on to buy more.

Could adults possibly get more silly?

The noise was getting to him. All the puns he sensed were not that punny, were not music to his ears, yet they were played again and again.

Yule be sorry if you miss out on these bargains.

How do you know Santa’s here? You can sense his presents!

Eric needed a rest, and fortunately found a nice warm spot beside a baby lying in straw, where he fell fast asleep, waking when he heard his mum’s sobs.
