Carol I remember somebody on social media saying she would never rewild her garden because that would encourage mice etc etc.

I was tempted to comment about the mice finding their rightful home, but as you also say, consider the role they play to make the air perfect for us, We won't eve look underneath our feet. That is too amazing.
