Being a principal Leonard, is an enormous responsibility. You're right. The effective ones recognise their roles, and that is not to assume power, but to build it for teachers and students.

As I write this I am reflecting on how many effective principals I enjoyed, and there were not too many.

I loved the classroom too, but I, and others, paid the price of the 'boss' principals.

I think you and I would have got along just fine.
