Note I: As seen above, I do have a black doll. When I received it, I didn’t know anything about racism or black people. I don’t think I’d seen a black-skinned person until I was ten or eleven. I’ve come close to letting it go. I’ve decided it will go out when I do. Each doll seen in the picture has a rare value, not monetary, but emotional. I don’t think even one of them swayed me in any direction but to love. Each one lives in a box and my heart.
