As always, you are absolutely correct James. This was written more for new writers on Medium.

What is also correct is that I would have to have my dictionary in front of me, were I to attend any of your classes. I don’t have that background and I would have to be attending many classes before I could catch up…if ever.

What is wasn’t meant to suggest is a dumbing down of written articles.
