As a teacher is rather horrifies me, not just for the banning of said books but often for the reasons why.

We're locking our children into a bland new world if we do, rather than a brave one.

Take many of these books way and you take away huge opportunities for teachers to discuss and through that, teach students about appropriateness, about better ways to deal with things, and about how we can do things better in the future.
