And yet that same woman now runs an online store where you can find heavenly, expensive things to buy, once you have got rid of your junk. That is so wrong.

When my husband and I cleared out our home, before selling, the pain was enormous. I couldn't believe what we had collected, including duplications that were little more than the same machine in a more modern guise.

These days we live well, but we live with less and lots of compromise.

I could go out and buy a shiny new set of saucepans, but you wouldn't believe what I can put together in my much smaller, less modern kitchen using a fraction of the equipment.

The other side of no mess and crammed drawers, is that I clean my home easily in an hour.

Our wardrobes are neat and tidy because we don't have all the business clothes we once had.

What we have done, is freed ourselves up to do the things that really do give joy, resurrecting our garden, once overgrown and begging for love.

A couples on night ago I watched a documentary on a fashion group Shein.

I was appalled by the working conditions presented, and the 'seasons' the workers worked towards, a season being a week or so.

No wonder our planet is grinding to a halt.

But hey, the Shein owner is a multi-billionaire. Maybe he was born without a heart.
