All I can say is there must have been lots of Mrs Cravens in the 80s here in Australia.

When children sit on the floor to hear a story, they tend to want to massage legs, especially that of the teacher.

I doubt any one child was co-opted to do it, but it did tend to happen.

They also loved to massage shoulders. Totally innocent as far as I am concerned.
