Airbnb and homelessness, a sad, sad duo.

Airbnb are empty a lot. One near me rarely has a guest as it is so expensive. That means that homes for local people are in greater demand. It drives prices up. More and more people can’t live where they want to or they have to pay higher rents. I know a family of four in a tiny cottage. A neighbour of mine turned his cottage into an Airbnb a few years ago. I asked him if he would consider renting to this family all year round and he replied no. He wants to use it and other members of his family do too. Plus he can charge more.

Airbnb and homelessness, a sad, sad duo. There are three homes around my home. Th owners are paid handsomely for each stay. Sadly, other people are without homes as a consequence.
