Ah Molly, I hear you. It's terribly hard to keep your end up, especially when you are young, and especially when your dad is just 'a postman'.

The reality is when our background is ordinary, for want of a better term, we usually are behind the eight ball and have so much catching up to do.

I remember all of this so clearly when I was competing with others whose parents were doctors and lawyers.

And now you are a young, confident, competent academic who can easily hold her head up in debate.

Your postman dad must be so proud of you.
