A teacher once described a friend's son as having a learning impairment.
She, herself a teacher, and principal, asked if I'd mind quietly observing him.
Not only was he not learning impaired, he was able, in kindergarten, to read and understand Leggo instructions.
He asked me once if i could help him. I sat down and we read instructions through. They were difficult, but he understood, after which I said that maybe I could just hold the pieces he required as he fitted them in place.
I suggested to my friend that she follow this up with his teacher.
