A few minutes, James. It was close. We had another one. We had tradies working on the roof and we were both at work. For some reason Alistair popped home to get something. As soon as he got out of the car, he realised the front garden was alight, so quickly put it out. The tradies had gone home by then. When contacted, the boss said it was due to spontaneous combustion. Nothing to do with the cigarette butts they'd tossed into the garden, and the fact that we were in drought!.
